I am a Professor in the Department of Economics at UCL and a Research Fellow at the Institute for Fiscal Studies, where I co-direct the Centre for the Evaluation of Development Policies (EDePo). I am interested in modelling household behaviour in developed and developing countries and, more generally, in Applied Econometrics. In particular, my current and recent research has focused on: Household Consumption, Saving and Labour Supply Behaviour; Housing Choices and Housing Markets; Risk Sharing; Evaluation and Design of Policies in Developing Countries; Human Capital Accumulation in Developing Countries; Early Years Interventions; Micro Credit; Measurement Tools in Surveys. I am currently Head of the Department of Economics at UCL. In 2014, I have been serving as President of the European Economic Association. In the past I have been Managing Editors of the Review of Economic Studies, the Journal of the European Economic Association and Quantitative Economics.
